    Overview

You can store and access your Leapfin data via your organization’s existing Snowflake account or by using Leapfin’s data warehouse. Accessing your Leapfin data using either of these methods allows you to make informed decisions based on insights and eliminates the engineering resources required to manage high volumes of data. You can also use your preferred business intelligence (BI) tool to run reports and analyze your Leapfin data using Snowflake as the data source.

This document describes how to set up your warehouse and connect your BI tools. It also includes information on data security, regional availability, limitations, and costs associated with your database.

    Secure Data Share (preferred)

Your organization has an existing Snowflake account

Leapfin leverages Snowflake’s Secure Data Share to provide you with instant access to Leapfin data directly within your organization's Snowflake account. To use this method, your organization must have an existing Snowflake account.

Provide your Leapfin Support representative with the following information so they can set up your Secure Data Share:

    • The account identifier of your organization's Snowflake account.

      • You can obtain the account identifier from the URL of your organization's Snowflake account: <account_identifier>.snowflakecomputing.com

    Leapfin-hosted sub-account

Your organization does not have an existing Snowflake account.

You are provided with a Leapfin-hosted Snowflake sub-account from which you can access your Leapfin data.

Contact your Leapfin Support representative to set up a Leapfin-hosted sub-account.

Once setup is complete, you will see the following databases in Snowflake:

    • LEAPFIN_DATA

    • LEAPFIN_SANDBOX (if available)

Within your Leapfin databases, Leapfin generates Snowflake views which you can use to query your data.

For detailed information on these views and how to query the data within, see Access and query your Leapfin data.

    Connect your BI tools

Leapfin allows you to run in-depth reporting and analytics on your Leapfin data in Snowflake using your preferred Business Intelligence (BI) tools, such as Looker, Tableau, and Domo.

For a comprehensive list of supported BI tools and instructions on how to connect them, see Snowflake’s Business Intelligence (BI) documentation.

    Data security

Leapfin takes the following measures to ensure your data is secure:

    • Your shared Snowflake database is only accessible via the Snowflake account that you provide.

    • If using a Leapfin-hosted sub-account, only your organization can access it.

    • Shared databases and Leapfin sub-account databases are read-only to preserve data integrity.

    • Leapfin cannot access data in your organization's Snowflake account.

Note: Visibility and access to the databases is controlled by your Snowflake administrator.
